Wonder-Con With Mojito Joe

Fan-boys from all around filled San Francisco this past weekend for the 24th annual WonderCon. Listed as a comic book convention, WonderCon is actually so much more. Sure there are comic books every where you turn, but it’s become so perfectly merged with just about everything else in pop culture that WonderCon has something for everyone, promoting everything from anime and toys, to video games and the latest movie trailer premiers.

I was only able to spend a few hours at WonderCon this year, and being the type of guy that wants to see it all, trying to rush through it and take it all in was no easy task. The event was massive, or in geek-speak “Ginormous” , and there was cool new stuff every where I turned, catching my eye and wowing me. Huge booths to promote new games like “Dante’s Inferno” and “Just dance” were really well done, but I found some of the smaller booths to be just as exciting. What the smaller booths may have lacked in size, they more then made up for in originality, such as booths to promote cool new movie concepts like “Stick Face Joe” (www.stickfacejoe.com ) or “Moot” (www.mootmagmovie.com ). Even custom made leather renaissance outfits in the color and theme of super hero favorites, such as Green Lantern or The Flash, stopped me in my tracks and gave me a reason to start saving up my money for one. I can’t wait for the WonderCon to return next year.  I just need to make sure I have more time to geek out at the next one, and winning the lotto so I can buy all the cool things I want would also be a huge plus! Join me there next time people. You won’t regret it.
